Pada hari kecelakaan, seorang wanita yang diketahui tengah hamil 39 minggu bepergian menggunakan mobil truk bermuatan kayu di daerah sebelah tenggara Brasil. Sesampainya di lokasi, ia hanya melihat sang pengemudi truk yang terluka
tengah mendapatkan pertolongan. Tak jauh dari situ, ia kemudian
menemukan wanita hamil yang tewas tertimpa kayu, dan mendengar tangisan
bayi yang baru lahir.
“Dampak
benturan yang terjadi pada sang ibu sangat besar sehingga melukai dan
‘membuka’ perut ibu, lalu bayi itupun berhasil lahir keluar dengan
selamat. Bayi itu lahir dengan sempurna, sehat, tanpa goresan sedikit
pun. Benar-benar sebuah keajaiban, ” ungkap Barbosa pada surat kabar A
Tribuna Brazil.
Dengan keterangannya,
Barbosa tidak mengetahui secara pasti bagaimana bayi yang diketahui
berjenis kelamin perempuan itu bisa keluar hidup-hidup dari rahim
ibunya.
Barbosa menambahkan, terdapat
momen yang emosional dalam kejadian ini. Di satu sisi, nyawa sang ibu
tidak dapat tertolong. Tetapi di sisi lain, bayi ini bisa selamat dari
kecelakaan mobil yang hebat. Di tengah-tengah tragedi, mereka mampu
menyelamatkan kehidupan seorang bayi.
“Saya
pikir tidak pernah ada kecelakaan seperti ini dalam sejarah. Kami
kehilangan nyawa, tetapi kami bertanggung jawab untuk memberikan
kehidupan kepada seorang bayi perempuan,” ungkapnya.
Identitas korban belum diketahui
Sementara
itu, identitas ibu yang tewas masih belum diketahui. Pihak berwenang
mencoba mencari pihak keluarga lainnya agar mereka dapat membawa sang
bayi. Namun jika tidak juga ditemukan, bayi itu akan diserahkan ke panti
asuhan.
Sopir truk mengaku hanya
memberi wanita hamil itu tumpangan, tetapi ia tidak mengenalnya. Sang
sopir keluar dari rumah sakit tanpa cedera serius, tetapi akan dikenakan
dakwaan pembunuhan.
Untuk sementara,
staf di rumah sakit Pariquera-Acu memberikan nama Giovanna untuk sang
bayi ajaib, yang berarti ‘dilindungi oleh Tuhan’. Para perawat
mengatakan Giovanna termasuk bayi yang sangat tenang dan jarang sekali
menangis.
